Messages of Sympathy
I was sorry to hear of Howard's passing. I worked very closely with Howard for almost 10 years at NYSTEC many of those years within 10 feet of him most of that time. He taught me many things some have stuck some I'm still working on . He was a good friend and was always there for the people close to him. I got to see him last summer at his place on the lake he really loved it there. Christine and I will really miss him.

I have so many fond memories of Uncle Howard, especially as a young child. I remember him making us giggle on a constant basis as he got down on the floor and played silly games with me and my sister. Knowing he had served in the Air Force and then hearing tales of flights as a navigator I was sure he was just like John Glenn, an astronaut waiting to go to the moon . . . I was in awe! Other memories are of times spent at the Beagle (Grandmom and Grandpop) home. Usually there was a formal dinner involved. Often during one of those dinners we would hear the fire sirens sound. Uncle Howard would jump up and have to leave as he was a member of the fire department. Again in the eye of an impressionable youngster, my Uncle Howard was a real hero. In later years he and my Mom, Chris (Beagle) Swavely were on a mission to unravel and solve all the family secrets. They were both very interested in genealogy. Whenever he and Mary Ann came to visit my parents most of the conversation revolved around family . . . children and grandchildren. You could always tell how much he loved them all. Uncle Howard will be missed but never forgotten and always remembered with fondness and love.

To all of Howard's "Families" We were welcomed into Howie & Maryanne's Home with HUGE open & loving arms and treated like family from day one. I know he is with his love now.

Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped into the next room.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name; speak to me in the easy way which you always used to.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be a household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was; there is absolutely unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight?
I am but waiting for you for an interval, somewhere very near just around the corner.
All is well. Nothing is past; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before, only better, infinitely better, infinitely happier & forever we will all be one together with Christ.
